Summary

The expansion of intermittent renewable power generation, like wind and solar power, has resulted in electricity grids experiencing a growing suite of problems, and transmission systems are reaching their limits earlier than intended. The C1.13 working group focussed on voltage stability and reactive compensation solutions. Surveys and simulations have provided an indication of current practice and system performance challenges.
