Summary
The purpose of this brochure is to provide a set of guidelines for uprating and upgrading of substations, an activity often carried out worldwide. WG B3.23 designed a questionnaire at the initial stage of the working group activity to survey practical experience on such projects. The replies from 22 countries worldwide highlight the strong interest of the power system sector in the various aspects of substation uprating and upgrading as it is a recurring issue.
