Summary
The growing needs for supplying vast amounts of electric energy with high quality have necessitated more sophisticated approaches to power system planning, operation and control. The above requirements have so far been achieved partly by great efforts of experienced operators and partly by the introduction of partially automated systems which have become possible by the active application of advanced analysis techniques.
