Summary
The focus is on the application of optimisation methods and techniques to improve the planning and operation of the network. The search for an optimal solution can consist of several steps of which some are done automatically and some require user interaction for the selection of next step. Seen from a very broad point of view it is possible to define the whole process as optimisation (the definition is constrained to those parts which can be formulated mathematically).
