Summary

This paper describes the development and application of a knowledge management system in the development of modern protection, automation, measurement, and monitoring devices at the company with which the authors are affiliated. Continuous research and development (R&D), engineering, participation in pilot projects, technical support for the system, and training of the customer’s personnel support the knowledge personalization strategy. The company's experts participate in the development of standards and other regulatory documents, participate in working groups at the Russian National Committee of CIGRE and IEC, and are engaged in scientific and educational activities. The paper presents several examples of the formation and management of corporate knowledge and skills in the development of protection, automation, measurement, and monitoring systems. The development and production process touch on various areas of activity and requires the coordinated work of various specialists, which is achieved through the transformation of explicit and implicit professional knowledge and expertise.
