Summary
The paper proposes an integrated approach to high-voltage equipment (HVE) X-ray inspection.
Read more Read lessIt is based on the selection of the optimal X-ray technology for each electric power facility, determined by the inspected HVE components. The approach is based on the results analysis of the HVE design features for testability: scanning radiography can be used for some types of substation equipment, and only discrete radiography is applicable for others. Energy performance of X-ray radiation spectrum are justified for effective X-ray inspection of different
HVE types.
In addition to previous research, it is shown that the scattered radiation intensity slightly depends on the angle of the primary X-ray radiation incidence on the HVE surface. The obtained results allow to assess the radiation environment during HVE X-ray inspection, which is a part of the integrated approach.
