Summary

This article presents a new multifunctional technology for automating distribution electrical grids and the equipment based on it, which combine the possibility of simultaneous and parallel operations: Organizing robust, noise-immune adaptive digital communication over power lines of medium and low voltage distribution electrical grids;

 Monitoring the condition of medium and low voltage distribution electrical grids;

 Transmitting object video surveillance via mobile network operators.

 A brief description of the basic adaptive OFDM (AOFDM) PLC technology and the AOFDM

PLC modem based on this technology is provided. Algorithms for monitoring the condition of distribution electrical grids, developed based on the capabilities provided by AOFDM technology, are presented. A predictive analysis system for the condition of distribution electrical grids, issuing warnings and recommendations for preventing technological violations, is described. The possibility of applying AOFDM PLC modems for teleprotection purposes with latency within 20 ms is highlighted.
