Summary
Years ago, aesthetics was not taken into account in the design of OHL supports. Towers were not judged as 'pretty' or 'ugly'; they were just considered essential for transmission of electricity. Nowadays, overhead line projects have tostart with an environmental impact assessment aiming toreduce their impact on the landscape. This brochure produced by WG B2.08 has the purpose of reporting how aesthetic towers have been used as a solution to mitigate these impacts.
