Summary

In order to master the characteristics of lightning activities in Guangzhou, this paper applies the lightning parameter statistical technology and geographic information system to particularly study the lightning amount, flash density, lightning current, thunderstorm day, as well as their distribution. In this paper Xuzeng Jia Line is analyzed in detailed as an application example of lightning parameters for lightning protection of transmission lines. The results show that there is a strong correlation between the lightning faults and lightning activities along the line corridor, which would provide a guide for solving the long-term difficult problems of lightning protection in power system of high thunderstorm regions.
