Summary

With the changeover of selected 10-kV-XLPE-MV-cable lines to a permanent operation at a doubled operation voltage test lines turned out to be interesting research objects to evaluate aging and damaging processes. For several years the damage accumulation of established cable test lines could be examined periodically by means of mobile diagnostics and test systems. The aim is to determine and classify indications of an accelerated damage accumulation. Following already presented examination results by [1] the recognition of damage accumulation in MV-cable joint is still taking center stage. Therefore, the investigation of the development of the PD-inception voltage with the operation time is carried on. Additionally, the examinations are more focusing on the measurement and evaluation of combined PD-characteristics and dissipation factor measurements with variable frequencies and low measurement voltages.
