Summary

This paper conducts a research on the modeling of LCC-HVDC system based on dynamic phasors. The current and voltage switching function characterize the features of the converter bridge and serve as a crucial link between DC and AC electrical quantities. However, existing literature lacks a systematic and modular method for constructing a dynamic phasor model of the switching function. This paper presents closed form harmonic expression for voltage and current switching functions. Based on the properties of Fourier transform, this paper proposes a systematic and modular method for deriving a switching function dynamic phasor model, which has the advantages of modularity and convenience, and can facilitate its promotion and application. This method is also applicable to variants of switching functions in other topologies, and can be quickly extended to dynamic phasor modeling research in other fields.

The core idea is to superpose basic waveforms like triangular and rectangular pulses into complex voltage and current switching functions through the Fourier transform properties.

Finally, through simulations of an electromagnetic transient model in EMT simulation software and a dynamic phasor model in dynamic phasor simulation environment, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified from DC-side to AC-side quantities under steady-state and transient conditions. It holds significant reference value for the dynamic phasor modeling of LCC-HVDC and other related systems.
