This paper is an interim report from Working Group B1.88, "Recommendations regarding the use of SF6 free gases in cable systems", that includes detailed descriptions. The WG will issue a complete brochure by the end of 2026. This paper focuses on what the working group has been already agreed upon, regarding the compatibility tests in cases chemically non inert gases are used, including leakage tests and pressure table as a function of the cable system voltage class.
