Read more Read lessCommittee B1 covering the service experience for land and submarine cable systems for the ten years from 2014 to 2023 inclusive. This report is an update of the 2024 Paris CIGRE Session report that covered the 10 years from 2012 to 2021 inclusive (Paper ID - 11258).
The results published in this paper cover AC and DC land and submarine cables on voltage levels above 36 kV (Um).
This current paper uses the results of the most recent 2-year data capture (2022-2023), combined with a sub-set of the previous 10-year data capture (2012 to 2021), to create the experience and failure data to provide reliability estimates for the 10-year period 2014 to 2023.
The population and failure statistics presented in the paper include cable joints, cable terminations and auxiliary components.
