To meet the scale and urgency of decarbonization, six European electricity Transmission

System Operators gathered their knowledge and cable expertise to commonly write High

Voltage technical reference documents, covering both HVAC and HVDC cable technologies.

This paper presents the way of working, the main technical outcomes and compromises achieved to support more coordinated and efficient grid development across Europe.
